"You require multiple interactions over time with the same people with a feeling of being good or beneficial. ... When we change the game Wrath of the Lich King TBC and Wrath of the Lich King TBC, we'll make changes to help preserve Social Proximity, and in this way, help nurture and safeguard social interactions."
The social aspect of TBC is the primary reason that players who are dedicated to the older servers continue to play. By using that as a guideline for the best way to build WotLK, Blizzard is trying to preserve perhaps the most distinctive characteristic of TBC in comparison to WoW.
Furthermore, ensuring accessibility and comfort "works to minimize the changes we make, as that familiarity is easily destroyed," according to the developer. "But it also inspires us to change things when a system that is too complex can be made more attractive and easy to comprehend."
